This past Sunday my mom and I had our first dress hunting
experience! I tried on six dresses. Most were lace. One dress in
particular was awful, it fit like a limp noodle. I don't even know who
would want a wedding dress without any structure to it, but that was the
dress for them.
The dress I liked the most was
fitted with a strapless lace bustier and satin bottom, trimmed with
additional lace The top part was perfect, but the satin part was
silver. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not. The lace stood out
more, which I liked, but the dress was still silver. If you have
to decide whether or not you like it or it's the one, then it's not the
one, right? It's still on the list, for now.
Whenever real life mimics fake life (television,
movies, etc.) it's always a surreal experience. My dress stylist asked
me after each dress "Do you love it? Do you say yes to the dress?" I
felt like I was being filmed for my starring performance on Say Yes To
The Dress. But, I wasn't and I did not love it or say yes.
I think ivory dresses are so pretty! I've seen pictures of brides in colored dresses, and if done right, it looks gorgeous. BUT, in my mind, the whole point of a wedding dress is to be white or ivory and to be the only one in all white. It blows my mind to go outside that spectrum...
